With shooting wrapped in September 2005, post production on Unfinished Business is now almost finished. The expected completion date is around mid-to-late January 2006. The ten minute short film will then be available for film festivals and general distribution.
Directed by Jason Kempnich and starring Kazuya Wright, Peita McCulloch, Darren Taylor and Barbara Baugh, Unfinished Business is initially set in 2005 and tells the story of Stewart (Wright). Stewart begins to recall disturbing memories, so vivid and violent in nature, they drive him to try to understand what is occurring ... or rather what has occurred, for the sake of his own sanity. The short film dramatically explores the consequences of an ill deed, seemingly long forgotten.
Unfinished Business provided an opportunity for twenty emerging Australian actors and crew to make their mark in their chosen professions by adopting feature film techniques and standards for production. Yarnmaker will continue to offer such opportunities to the local film production community in the years to come.
Stay tuned: Yarnmaker will launch a sub-website to promote Unfinished Business in the coming weeks. In the mean time, visit the in-production page for more information on this film.
